History of Villa Sparina
Villa Sparina has a rich history as a family-run business that dates back to the early 1970s when the Moccagatta family acquired the villa. Within a short span of time, the estate established itself as one of Piedmont’s premier Gavi wine producers. In 2004, they expanded their offerings to include a 4-star superior resort and the renowned restaurant “La Gallina“.
The 18th-century villa, set amidst breathtaking natural beauty, houses 33 elegant rooms adorned with authentic design pieces. These exquisite accommodations provide a tranquil haven where gay travelers can unwind and rejuvenate during their visit to Piedmont.
The restaurant at Villa Sparina showcases the excellence of the region, offering dishes prepared with locally-sourced, zero-kilometer, seasonal ingredients. The culinary creations, presented with a modern twist, epitomize the flavors of the area. Additionally, the cellar, recognized as the 2021 Best European Wine Cellar by the Wine Star Awards, proudly presents the fragrant and highly sought-after Gavi wine, as well as the typical Piedmontese red wine Barbera, both crafted from grapes grown in the estate’s vineyards.
