Still Hungry from Thanksgiving? Try These Italian Food & Wine Tours

There’s something so special that’s unlocked when people come together over a shared meal. For us, that’s one of the most beautiful parts of Thanksgiving; getting together with family – chosen or given – to revel in traditions passed down through generations. And even though there are some very specific Thanksgiving classics – like roast turkey, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce – what’s on your plate may be completely different than what’s on the next person’s. Folks all around the U.S. have their own regional, cultural, or even familial ways of preparing their foods differently.

Such is the case in Italy, where each region plays home to a vast variety of it’s own special ingredients, signature dishes, delectable street foods, and of course, wine and spirits! There’s so much ground to cover when it comes to Italy’s food tastes, so we put together some affordable tours specifically designed for queer travelers with a taste for Italian food and wine! Buon appetito.

7-Day “Sea and Good Food Tour” Through Genoa, Florence, and Naples
Quiiky LGBTQ+ tours takes you through one of the greatest food-culture-leisure experiences in Italy. You will travel by high-speed trains and slow down on the railway trail of the ‘Cinque Terre’. From pesto sauce to blue fish; from street food to cooking classes, to vineyard tours and wine tastings. In only seven days, you will go back home with new recipes for Italian cooks and sommeliers.

Explore LGBTQ+ Friendly Piedmont (And Hunt for Truffles!)
Piedmont is much more than anyone may expect: it is history, culture, food and wine in their major expressions. It is great mountains, the Western side of Alps, where the longest river in Italy, the Po, originates. Springtime is the green season and the region blossoms in all shades of colors; summer is the season to go and visit vineyards or travel to discover small hamlets and their castles; Autumn is the best season: it is the vintage time and also the truffle hunting experience. Any season is for amazing food and wine, for great hospitality of excellent hotels or b&b or ‘agriturismi’.

Dine Like Leonardo – or James Bond – in Milan
Join Quiiky for this romantic gay tour of the most appreciated destinations in Italy: Milan, Como Lake, Bellagio and Maggiore Lake. Day 2 ends with an unusual dinner in typical Leonardian clothes in Vaprio, town that hosts the last dwelling of the artist, with the recipes Leonardo wrote and prepared himself! Day 4 takes you to Lake Como, where you’ll visit Villa del Balbaniello, among the most beautiful and romantic residences of the lake, also the set of countless film productions: Star Wars, the 007 series, Casino Royale.

Drink Local Wine in Venice and Bardolino
Take a romantic tour of Venice, where one day’s activity includes an excursion to the center of Bardolino, on the lake side, to discover wine and food of the area: the red Bardolino, Custoza, Lugana and Valdadige. All three are all excellent local wines that can be best enjoyed in the company of your partner.

Visit Quiiky.com to book your tour of Italy’s best food and wine today!
